Yesterday, Putin’s Puppet shamed America. The President of the United States squandered the prestige of his office by rolling out the red carpet in Alaska for mass murdering tyrant Vladimir Putin. He showered effusive praise on Belarus’ dictator Alexander Lukashenko, calling him “highly respected”.
This was Neville Chamberlain on steroids. It was a national humiliation that embarrassed every sentient American. And for all our mortification, Trump delivered nothing but empty rhetoric and a radiant Putin grin.
“We prayed for peace but instead got praise for Putin,” former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrote on X.
As an American, it is excruciatingly painful to know that our country will always have the shallowest, most historically illiterate, chronically unprepared, least savvy leader sitting at the negotiating table. Deep down, most Americans intuitively know that they could go blindfolded to a Coney Island freak show, spin around three times, and whatever circus act they’d be pointing to when the spinning ceased, would likely be a far smarter, less destructive and more effective president than Donald Trump.
In terms of the Alaska debacle, one wonders if the real agreement on Ukraine’s fate took place in the shadows. In Alaska, Trump shuffled Putin into his armored limousine, The Beast, where they had a private conversation. Putin seemed pleased with the outcome and could be seen cackling in the rear window.
