The Wayne Besen Show to Debut Next Monday on Chicago’s WCPT

Besen to Appear on Progressive Programs All Week to Discuss New Show

CHICAGO – Chicago’s Progressive Talk radio, WCPT, announced today that Wayne Besen will appear on a variety of leading progressive talk shows this week to discuss his new program, “The Wayne Besen Show,” which will begin on Monday, July 20 (2-5PM CT). The following are a list of appearances.

 

Wednesday: The Stephanie Miller Show (8:30 AM CT)

Thursday: The Norman Goldman Show (5:30 PM CT)

Friday: The Thom Hartmann Show (12:15 PM CT)

Saturday: Wayne Besen’s “I’ve Got Issues” (Final Show 4-6 PM CT)

Sunday: Out Chicago w/Scott Duff (WCPT, 11-1PM)

The new daily program will air on WCPT AM 820 and WCPT FM 92.5. It replaces Jeff Santos, a nationally syndicated talk show. The Wayne Besen Show can be heard nationally at ChicagosProgressiveTalk.com.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to join our listeners in entertaining and informative discussions over the major issues that define our times,” said WCPT host Wayne Besen. “Chicagoans deserve top-notch local programming that addresses their daily needs and concerns and I am honored to be part of this effort.”

For the past year, Besen has been hosting “I’ve Got Issues”, 4-6 pm Saturdays on WCPT. Besen co-hosted WCPT’s 2014 Election special with Dick Kay. He has filled in locally for The Stephanie Miller Show and nationally The Norman Goldman Show, as well as made numerous appearances on “Out Chicago,” WCPT’s LGBT-themed program.

Wayne Besen is the Founding Executive Director of Truth Wins Out, a non-profit organization that battles for LGBT equality (Truthwinsout.org). He is the founder of the Center Against Religious Extremism (TWOCARE.org), an opposition research group that monitors the Religious Right at home and abroad.
